Looks like love has come calling again for Nandita Das.The winsome actress who has won much national and international acclaim both as an actress and director is now seeing Subodh Maskara, an industrialist based out of Mumbai. Nandita married her long time friend Saumya Sen some years back but is now divorced from him. Subodh has been married earlier too. The couple is looking to buy a home together and have been spotted looking at flats in the Madhuli Building at Worli, itself famous as the building in which Harshad Mehta had several flats. The 40-year-old Nandita has always been unconventional in her choice of films and has never shied away from controversial roles like Fire (1996).

Being a good actress has many pluses. Not only do you bag the best roles (and awards) in the business, but you find time to do a lot more. We mean, more than just movies.

We all know that Kajol is a natural, and is super spontaneous with her performances, but when we dropped in on the sets of the Stepmom remake, even we were mighty surprised.

She was just so quick with her takes and went through them so smoothly, that she ended up with a lot of free time in between. While the unit went into a frenzy readying the set for the next take, Kajol would unwind and catch up on her hobbies. We discovered she likes knitting woolies and sweaters, and between shots, she was going clickety-clack with the needles – yarn and all. Maybe she’s planning to surprise her producer and buddy, Karan Johar with a wooly this winter. With her signature style, of course! Though we’re sure he’d be much happier with the monster hit he’s expecting from her. Now we know why he chose her for this one – she’s ‘supermom’ alright. And this is no ‘yarn’. 

 Neha Dhupia has tried her hand at all kinds of movies, be it realistic ones or masala films. But the one genre the actress would like to try her hand at is romantic comedies.

“Yes, I would love to. I am screaming out loud that is my most favourite genre. I hope someone’s listening,” she laughs adding, “But on a more serious note, I have done one that’s in the same space. It’s called Pappu Can’t Dance Saala and will be releasing soon.” 

Bollywood has had more of bonding and kissing-and-making up stories off late, rather than it’s usual coterie of catfights and break-ups. And joining the club of new-found friendships are Sushmita Sen and Kangna Ranaut who’re the new ‘hottie’ pair in B-town. The two actresses bonded in South Africa during the shooting of Anees Bazmee’s No Problem — in which the two play sisters incidentally — and brought their new found friendship back home too. So much so, that when the two are not working together, they keep in touch over text messages and phone calls.

Sushmita — who in fact helped Kangna get over her initial hesitance for driving — is even known to share tips about work, since with No Problem, Kangna’s stepping into the foray that Sush excels in — comedy. The otherwise reclusive Kangna of course is more than happy to have found a didi in Sush and the diva on her part is happy with the new role and is all praises for Kangna. 

 Afer playing older woman on screen, the National Award wining actress Shefali Shah has made up her mind to play only her age in reel roles. "I realised I have always played older women but now I have made a conscious decision to play only my age," Shefali, who will be seen in her husband Vipul Shah's film, told IANS. "I am doing a film with Vipul that he is producing and Barnali Shukla is (debut) directing called 'Kuch Love Jaisa' where I play my age, so I said why not push the envelope and even look the way I can," added Shefali, who has lost oodles of weight. The 40-year-old played Amitabh Bachchan's wife in "Waqt: The Race Against Time" and Kasturba Gandhi in "Gandhi, My Father". 

Neil Nitin Mukesh looks up to Bollywood brat Salman Khan not because he identifies with him. Or because he himself is a little brash sometimes as are most young successful actors. What Neil loves about Salman is the charity work that the actor does. In fact, Neil is taking his adoration for Salman to the next level. He will wear Salman’s Being Human (Salman’s charitable organisation) T-shirts for the next two weeks during the promotional tour for his forthcoming release Jail. Told you, Sallu has that effect on men and women.

Bipasha Basu is sleep-deprived these days. But before the naughty thoughts take a flight, the actress bursts the bubble by revealing the real reason behind her sleepless state. “It’s only work, and some more work,” she states laughingly. The Bong beauty has been shooting all night through since the past few days. But surprisingly, that sleep-starved look barely shows on her fresh-as-ever-face. Spilling the beans on that secret, Bips adds, “I have been trying to catch up on my sleep during the day-time.” Which is not much, we think, considering the freqeunt public appearances the actress has been putting in off late for her recent film. Now, how and when the actress manages to catch on her beauty sleep is a mystery waiting to be solved. Any help John?
